The Caledonian Railway Association
The Caledonian Railway Association (CRA) was formed in 1983 to further the study of all aspects of the Caledonian Railway, its constituents, subsidiaries and successors.
Our expanding archives of drawings, photographs, documents and publications is held in secure and environmentally compatible conditions and new items as donations or acquisitions are welcome.
"The True Line" Journal, an A4 format glossy magazine, is published four times per year and in addition to articles of historical interest provides News for the Membership and a forum for the request and exchange of information.
The Association publishes a range of reprints of Diagram Books, Timetables and other Company documentation. Back numbers of "The True Line" Journal are also available.
A range of items are available to assist model makers build a "Caley" layout.
Meetings are held in Glasgow on Saturday afternoons during the winter months and the AGM in March combines the business of the Association with a day of talks and exhibitions, rounded off by an annual Dinner in the evening.
The sales stand and/or layout attend a number of model railway shows in Scotland and Northern England.
The CRA maintains contact with Heritage Railways, Museums and National Repositories to assist in the preservation and or conservation of artefacts, archives and information relating to the Caledonian Railway.
