Thanks Mike. I knew of the first BRJ article but not the second. eBay has provided a copy at a good price.

Re: 20T Brake Vans

My apologies, it is a fair representation of the literal prototype and based on the best information available at the time of production. I should perhaps have updated things sooner but it is only a difference of 1mm in height.

The last CL02 has now been sold. I am unsure if we will offer it again but am open to persuasion.

20T Brake Vans

I've known ever since the publication of Mike Williams' CR wagon book that I'd made a bit of a faux pas with the 20T brake van kit in that it represents the the singular, prototype, Westinghouse braked version and not the production run.The latter has a 3 inch higher roof-line and self-contained buf...

John

Many thanks for that. While it does not answer the livery question, I have never seem the veranda in such detail so very useful nonetheless.

Wanlockhead and Knott End Sock

In the early 1930s a composite coach with end roofed platforms was transferred from the Garstang and Knott End Railway to the Wanlockhead branch. Its LMS number was 17899. In their history of the Garstang and Knott End Railway, Rush and Price (Oakwood Press, Oxford 1985 ISBN 0 85361 318 4) state the...

 Apart from driving past it fairly frequently, no. I was not around Glasgow at an age such might have been of interest and was never in it (think it's derelict now - haven't been that way for a while)

Is it in the vicinity of Parkhead with the squat, square building behind the tracks being Joanna Dee’s nightclub on Duke Street? (written before John's post)

Just to keep folks informed, we're down to 2 CL02 Class 812 kits now. Chassis and tender kits will remain available but I'm still not convinced about the full kit.

Re: Not a Christmas quiz

Only book I know on the subject is 'The British Travelling Post Office' by Peter Johnson (Ian Allan, Shepperton 1985. ISBN 0 7110 1459 0). Gives a decent overview if not details on timings etc.

Re: LMS Furniture

Yes, I'd have assumed that was the pre-group position but I suppose the question is did St Rollox continue furniture production after 1923 or was manufacture rationalised to 'Wolverton on a production line' as mentioned by Martin?

You might like to contact Gavin Rose of Sparkshot Custom Creations ([email protected]) He's the chap who is producing the 3D printed 812 bodies. He might be able print a pattern (at a price of course).

Early coach axleboxes/springs

Saw these on the web-site of 'ther CRA - the Cumbrian Railways Association - and can't help but feel they might have some applicability for those of you who love earler coaches than I produce.

With reference to the article in True Line 149 can I draw folks attention to a discussion of DM354986 on the LMS Review web site? URI is http://www.lmsreview.co.uk/mystery.php. After a wee faux pas from me, Peter Tatlow fairly conclusively shows this vehicle originated as a Midland Railway 31 foot c...

Re: Jumbo General Arrangement Drawings

Can offer a copy of drawing number 8670 for 18" x 26" x 5'0" Goods Engine if this is different from what you have received from other sources. It might be dated 11/11/11 but its hard to decipher. Years ago I have written on it Class 711 but I would not take that as gospel.
