Re: LMS Furniture

Yes, I'd have assumed that was the pre-group position but I suppose the question is did St Rollox continue furniture production after 1923 or was manufacture rationalised to 'Wolverton on a production line' as mentioned by Martin?

LMS Furniture

Charles Armstrong of the ‘Scottish Railway Preservation Society’ (SRPS) sent to the LMS Society two images of LMS chairs – the type you sit on, not the type you lay rail with – asking if anyone know anything at all about LMS upholstery or how the chairs would be repaired as and when the material bec...

Re: CR Cattle Dock/Pens

You might like to contact Gavin Rose of Sparkshot Custom Creations ([email protected]) He's the chap who is producing the 3D printed 812 bodies. He might be able print a pattern (at a price of course).

Early coach axleboxes/springs

Saw these on the web-site of 'ther CRA - the Cumbrian Railways Association - and can't help but feel they might have some applicability for those of you who love earler coaches than I produce.

Breakdown Vans

With reference to the article in True Line 149 can I draw folks attention to a discussion of DM354986 on the LMS Review web site? URI is http://www.lmsreview.co.uk/mystery.php. After a wee faux pas from me, Peter Tatlow fairly conclusively shows this vehicle originated as a Midland Railway 31 foot c...

Re: Jumbo General Arrangement Drawings

Can offer a copy of drawing number 8670 for 18" x 26" x 5'0" Goods Engine if this is different from what you have received from other sources. It might be dated 11/11/11 but its hard to decipher. Years ago I have written on it Class 711 but I would not take that as gospel.

Re: Jumbo General Arrangement Drawings

Hi

I have some GAs but copying them is currently problematic. I have an A3 scanner which is of some use if you can tell me precisely what you need.

Re: Class 670 kit

Might I had my congrats? A fine job. In relation to an earlier post I am happy to supply etches for use in folks' projects. In this case it is not as simple as body and chassis I'm afraid. There is a nickle-silver etch and a brass etch, the former being mostly but not exclusively concerned with the ...

Re: 812/652 Class 3D Prints in development

Looking at sales of the various products in the Caley Coaches range, and given the availability of the very nice Sparkshot products not to mention the impending Bachmann product, I think the time has come to call it a day for CL02 :!: . I still have a small stock but do not propose restocking once t...

Sorry for some blatant advertising but just a note to let folk know that Caley Coaches is still trading at this difficult time with good stocks of most things including the new Class 670 0-4-2 kits (CL03). Jim

Re: 812/652 Class 3D Prints in development

While I am biased as the owner of Caley Coaches Ltd. I too find the choice of prototype baffling, not because of the kit in the Caley Coaches range which I realise is not for everyone but because of the forthcoming Rails/Bachmann model. In reply to the comment "Caley Coaches have had an etched 812 f...

Can anyone point be at photos of GWR stock in (say) Central station or on the Caley mainline? I would have thought the rarity value would have made them photographic but I can't recall any at the moment.

Re: GWR Through Coach

Post 1908 the Caledonian coach on the Glasgow-Taunton working was a 65' corridor brake composite to Diagram 95B (which Caley Coaches produces in both 4mm and 7mm scales - plug over! ;) ). This had 2 1st and 5 3rd class compartments together with the guards accommodation. I would assume the GWR coach...

Apologies if this isn't the right place to ask but... In order to take Caley Coaches next project forward I need someone to make some 4mm scale patterns suitable for investment casting. Cold cure moulds are possible if it helps. Any volunteers or pointers to someone who might be interested in the wo...

LMS Northern or Scottish Division

Attached is a rather succinct letter which came to me via Peter Tatlow, in which the title of the LMS in Scotland is called into question. I've never heard of it referred to anything other than the 'Northern Division' but the writer is most adamant that is should be the 'Scottish Division'. Has anyo...
