Stirling Station

I see on the internet that there are plans to refurbish the entrance canopy at Stirling Station. Here is the link https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/local-news/stirling-station-canopy-line-restoration-14032443?fbclid=IwAR2Pk49tXMJyV6h99Ritan_9A7z2fhoQ1jPVhW3hm1WPSo5ZLqP-Vv7TRZ0 (Hope that works!) Re: Station lamp

Hi Jim At Lochearnhead, we have a few "special occasion" lanterns that look very similar to your photograph. Ours are in bare copper without any painted finish. I cannot, however, vouch for how they were when they became "ours". One of our volunteers has made a couple of new ones from a recycled hot...

Re: Lochearnhead

I have been taught how to compress and resize photographs to meet the Forums rules! So now I can share a few photos of Lochearnhead Scout Station with you. The first two pictures show the Station at Easter 2015 with temporary rainwater downpipes fitted. Unbelievably, the pictures were taken within 1...

Re: Lamp Huts

I think I have mastered the technology! Two photos of the old Lamp/Coal Room at Lochearnhead now known as The Porters Lodge resplendent with the new Slate Roof.
Pictures taken on the same day at Easter 2015.

Re: Lamp Huts

A reply to Mike's photos of the Lamp Hut at Lochearnhead. As you might be aware, the Station is owned (and kept in great nick!) by Hertfordshire Scouts and is used as an Outdoor Centre. The Lamp Room is affectionately known as the Porters Lodge (which of course it wasn't). We have it kitted out as a...

Re: Lochearnhead

Hi A visit to Lochearnhead could be programmed in the week immediately after Easter Sunday 2016 (29 March - 1 April). Hertfordshire Scouts will have a presence on site that week without young people being present. If the relevant people on the CRA "Guided Tours Committee" can arrange something, we w...

Re: Lochearnhead

David I am sure something could be arranged but there are some caveats! The Scout Association have rules regarding Safeguarding young and vulnerable people. The site is occupied most weekends by groups of Scouts and we discourage visitors during those times. Virtually all of the Management Committee...

Re: Lochearnhead Scout Station

Good evening. Gordon Marshall here. I am a newcomer to this forum but have been a member of the CRA for a couple of years. I am a member of the Management Committee for Hertfordshire Scouts who own the old Station at Lochearnhead. We originally acquired a lease for the then derelict Station back in ...
