Ah yes, I should have probably looked up the allocation of the locomotive. (it was rather late when I posted this) Such a lovely machine, shame they were not as good as planned.

New CR negative
Hello, I recently purchased an original negative along with the copyright for my collection of Two Ex-Caley Engines at an unknown location but possibly HR territory. Ex-CR 294 Class 'Jumbo' No. 67237 & Ex-CR 60 Class 'Greyback' No. 54639 in the early 1950s. If the CRA is interested in using it for a...

Location in this photo
Hello everyone, I recently purchased this photograph and was unclear about the location. It looks to be a CR 191 Class pulling into Tyndrum on the C&O. Thoughts? https://scontent-ort2-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/57840094_10219235462694341_7584609861858492416_n.jpg?_nc_cat=101&_nc_ht=scontent-ort2-1.xx&o...

Re: Sound for CR locos
David, We have been involved with SouthWest Digital, who hoped that recordings made during the Caledonian weekend at Bo'ness would enhance what they had confirmed could be put on the chip. Victorian Lad, whose work is no stranger to this Forum, had arranged for such recordings to be made. We await ...

Re: 498 Class Wheel Details
Jim, I think Mike's picture is pretty conclusive, but here is a pre-group shot from a low angle (Dawsholm/ Maryhill area I think) of CR No 510, and 2 later close-ups, LMS 16153 and BR 56154 (ex CR Nos 527 & 528), just to confirm nothing changed. Hello,
I was just curious as I am modeling a Pickersgill 'Caley Bogie' and does anyone know what the visible differences are between the 72 & 113 Class? I more interested in what the obvious visible differences are. Please help

My company will be going up there during and after the gala to record her for sounds so that will give the CRA recordings of 419 for future models.

Re: CRA Facebook Page
I dont believe a CRA Facebook group would actually effect the forum in anyway. The Facebook group would be a way to connect with a broader audience that may no know about this forum or have no interest. This forum although its good for general subjects, does not provide a way to answer peoples quest...

CRA Facebook Page
Hello all, It has come to my attention that there are quite a few CRA members who are interested in a CRA Facebook page, myself included. Is there any chance of making a CRA facebook page? About 10 members are talking about starting one and I told them to wait and ask the CRA officials first about i...

CR Painting
Hello, I found this painting on the internet. I looks like a replication of a picture I need of a double header with a CR 140 Class at the front, dont remember where it was taken. However, would anyone know who made this painting and where I can find a better resolution. Id quite like to buy a copy ...

Unfortunately, I live in the USA so that isnt very possible and I cant exactly get approval from the wife to fly to Scotland, just to measure a building. Haha

St. Rollox Works drawings

Re: Caledonian 264/611 Class 0-4-0ST
Here is an updated one will I think how the lining was on the bufferbeam based on Davids photos and also added lining to the font of the tank. Unfortunately, the game I am making it for will only allow me to have one type of builders plate so I decided to go with the McIntosh style plate. I have mad...

Re: Caledonian 264/611 Class 0-4-0ST
How is this? I have one which is full vermillion with lining on the border but doesnt have the CR letters and one without the CR letters? Which one would be best option and possibly more accurate? I dont think there would be any room for the number one the bufferbeam? Kris https://i.pinimg.com/origi...

Re: Caledonian 264/611 Class 0-4-0ST
So a full vermillion bufferbeam and lining on the beam going across the running board? Would there be any room for CR on the bufferbeam? Its very small and would be a tight sqeeze.

Re: Caledonian 264/611 Class 0-4-0ST
Hello, Here is an updated look at the pug, I still need to fix the lamp irons on the bufferbeam for this livery, I decided to go with a full black bufferbeam because I could not find any material that said it was painted any other colour. Texturing is about 75% done. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/2...

Re: Caledonian 264/611 Class 0-4-0ST
Here is a look of my computer generated model so far, I included the variant with the rear sandbox and McIntosh numberplates. As you can see I am still texturing it but I need some details of the front and rear bufferbeam to make or not make lining and the colour. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/e4/5...

Caledonian 264/611 Class 0-4-0ST
Hello, I am currently building a CR 264/611 class in Caledonian Goods black livery with the red connecting rods as seen in the “Caledonian Railway Livery” book and was stumped on two things about the livery. 1. Was there any lining on the bufferbeams? I know they had wooden dumb buffers but what col...

CR Industrial/NCB locomotives
Hello, I was curious if anyone knew if any CR engines were drafted into the NCB (National Coal Board) or industrial work? I know a McIntosh 0-6-0T 782 class was in the NCB and even painted into CR Light blue towards the end trying to pursuade buyers to purchase it but unfortunately it was never sold...
