I have examples of many of the 4mm ones, including the cattle wagon and the 7 T bogie running about on the layout.
Fond memories of them, they were the kits that started me off in CR modelling.
Some of the original instruction sheets could be in a file somewhere if anyone wants a copy.

Stuarts pics explain it all I think , but to add a bit these are a couple of closeups of the parts fettled and fitted.
Must dust that hair off.

Re: London Road 123 kit
Hi Alan, I had a go at building it a good time back. At that time I found it to be a comprehensive kit, not easy but I got there in the end. Lining lets me down a bit , but it runs reasonably though lacks adhesion for heavy trains. Portescap motored if I remember correctly. A few posed pics on here;...

Indeed , excellent painting and lining there John. These 670s are like busses, none for ages and then lots turn up. So here is another ; 670 cra.JPG And some video of it in action . https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/blogs/entry/23926-a-cr-670-class-part-6-in-service-at-last/&tab=comments#...

Re: Locomotive balance weights
They hardly ever get shown on drawings.
Generally I have found that the only way to size them is to find a photo and do a bit of guesstimation.

Ok, I'll have a go at that.
It does say it is for the advanced modeller. I'm just a wagon basher but you only get advanced by trying.

Re: 4 and 6 wheel coaches
I had a look, seems to have created quite a storm over there. At least if the CR liveried ones are in the third batch there will be plenty of posts about the initial batches to give an idea of whether they are worth buying. I suspect that by the time they come out my silhouette could have cut out th...

Re: Wartime 65' carriage photos
I remember being puzzled the first time the pics were shown. I'd agree that the patches are similar in shape, but that they look too randomly shaped to be painted out. Even whitewashed out it would surely be more of a block than those. Also in the second picture only one coach appears to have them. ...

Caledonian ROD 2-8-0
A bit of RTR bashing has resulted in Caledonian version of the ROD 2-8-0
My ad hoc conversion might raise a few eyebrows, but it was a low cost project.
Some more pics here ;

Re: 944 Class 4mm Chassis
I used the Gibson frames as well. In EM I had to curve the frames in at both the front and rear. I just cheated and made a swing arm truck for the back. I'll post some pics when I take it apart for servicing.
I seem to remember having a serious hassle getting it to go round corners.

Re: ROD 2-8-0
Ok, a picture of the ROD buffers.
The surface finish is a bit grainy and the plastic rather brittle but they seem to be accurate. The preserved engines in australia had numbers close to some of those hired by the CR and were NBL builds.
