Two suggestions:
The Cumbrian Railway Association who have a large photo collection and
The CRA former chairman George Russell, a local resident. May be he will be at the AGM?
Best, Crabapple

Re: The Caledonian and the East Coast Joint Stock
All,
next issue of TTL will, I believe, carry an article on Caledonian ECJS.

Further debate at the bar in Perth, perhaps ?

Re: Wartime 65' carriage photos
The soldier on the LH side and the one seated are both US troops. I think the one seated is a master sargeant. The US entered WW1 on 6 April 1917 but it took most of 1917 to mobilise and get troops across the ocean. So I speculate that the photos were taken in the spring or summer of 1918 by which t...

Re: LNWR/WCJS Coaches on the C&O
WC stock did run on the CR . Not sure if ex WC stock ran but there is no reason why not . The bigger question is what were the ex ECJS which came to the CR due to the amalgamations in 1865 and 66. There are records of the disposl to the companies which jointly ownerd the CR but not what vehicles wer...

Marcel Guest of Manchester make the Railmatch paints. They will also do small batch runs of these colours in spray cans: enamel or acrylic.
