In the early 1970's, an exCR fireman told me that the 0-4-4T's running from Strathaven to Blantyre via Glassford, Quarter, etc. had to travel bunker first because of the long gradient.

Another who is late on the scene. I'll take 2 of all:

1870s loco coal wagon with solid buffers
pre-diagram open, probably an 8-ton wagon with sprung buffers
