A crane at Perth

It may be a bit impious to introduce this into the discussion which took place earlier on the email group, bu much was spoken about cranes there, and I'm sure this wee chap should have his place also. The location is of course the North end of Perth Station and the photograph from which this is cropped is copyright Perth Museum.

Well worth showing again, Allan.
Anything of signalling interest in the full-size picture?

Jim

Absolutely no signals, Jim. The only thing remotely relevant is a distant view of the tower from which a stout hearted employee of (presumably) the joint station watched for trains emerging from the Moncrieff tunnel, to tell by the colour of the buffer beams whether they were SCR or EP & D. And I'm sure you could get a better picture of that.

There are a lot of horseboxes, though.

Regards

The bridge being installed in Allan's photograph is still in place and I used it as a vantage point last weekend to photograph the name board which appears in a number of CR period photographs.
