Ballachulish line gradients

I have drawn a blank on finding the gradenit diagram for the Ballachulish branch, apart from a few comments of 'there weren't many', which is fair enough for large parts of the branch. However there were clearly some such as north of Connel bridge as well as around Creagan, Duror and Ballachulish Ferry.

Does anyone have a gradient diagram that is electronic or could be scanned / copied etc ?

Bill

I have one for the Ballachulish Branch - Official Caledonian Railway Gradient Chart.
I could send it as attachment to an e-mail.

Here is a sample of the Caledonian Railway Gradient Chart for the Ballachulish Line.
If you require a larger copy I can forward as an attachment but I am not sure how "private messages" work on the Forum - the modern "IT" world keeps getting faster, and I am due to fall off soon!

Thanks, personal email address supplied as a PM.

One part of the closure story that I had not realised until recently was that the section through Appin station & past Castle Stalker was proposed for conversion to road, at the same time as the section northwards was, and was completed.

This was to the extent that a 1967 Bartholomew map (Sheet 47) showed this section as 'under construction' and in a 1970 edition even as 'open' .
The A828 main road still goes uphill and back, although the line is now a surfaced cycleway / property access.

David, did you get my PM? I pressed the 'submit' button but as often happens I see no sign of the message going out to you.

As far as I understand it, John, it stays in your 'outbox' until the recipient reads it.
