Mystery Goods Shed

Post by Jim Summers »

Can any of the sleuths identify this picture of a goods shed, please?
Hamish Stevenson took it, but unusually for him did not record the details.

I took quite a few photographs in 1981 of Dumbarton Goods Yard CR, it looks to be the same location.
Please compare.

I reckon that's Dumbarton too. Sadly the building was demolished to make way for Tesco. I photographed it just days before the demolition began, but couldn't get inside.

Thank you, David and Michael.
That seems conclusive. Nice that we have been able to help Hamish Stevenson whose photographs and talks have entertained us so often.
For myself, I only ever saw Dumbarton Goods from the train but remember thinking that the location had attractive modelling possibilities.
