ROD 2-8-0

I understand that a member asked, at the meeting on Saturday, if these were painted blue.
The short answer is no
There is more information on the Forum under “RODs on the Caledonian” thread starting November 2012.
I have more info ...... somewhere!

Which do look like the ones fitted to the CR type.

I will give them a coat of primer and post a pic when they arrive

Thanks David, they do, indeed, look like those on the CR RODs
What I don’t understand is why they supply 6 buffers!

Would they have fitted these buffers to the Jumbo’s that went and came back from France?

In the “RODs on the Caley” there is a pic, of a 0-6-0 showing conventional buffer housings

Ok, a picture of the ROD buffers.

The surface finish is a bit grainy and the plastic rather brittle but they seem to be accurate. The preserved engines in australia had numbers close to some of those hired by the CR and were NBL builds.
