John Boyle Etches - station furniture

Hi

As many of you will know, John's etches for 6-wheeled carriage bodies included a small section of extras - station furniture.

There is no reference to these components in the instructions, but I've managed to work out the drinking fountain and the seat, but can't quite fathom the three rectangular bits with brackets (marked up with arrows on the attached).

Can anyone enlighten me?

I vaguely remember John telling me they were luggage racks ...... but from where, and three?
That is a bit like B&Q selling packets of 5 screws!

Hello,
These are surely sign boards for Station buildings, frame is folded to carry a double sided sign indicating the accomodation and positioned above/adjacent to the doors.

Just fold them in the middle and trap the sign between. Probably easier in 7mm than in 4mm

I wondered about these items a few years ago, and posed the same question. Some have now been put to good use but not fitted permanently yet :
