Advice on GEM Cardean

Post by Coronach » Sun Jul 02, 2017 9:09 pm

I recently acquired a kit-built (Presumably GEM) Cardean from the late Ian Brown's collection. I'd like to provide this model with a nice new EM chassis. Obviously the original kit was compromised to accommodate the Triang B12 chassis, as was the LNWR Prince of Wales 4-6-0 also in the range.
A more modern etched chassis for the PoW has been produced and notwithstanding the clear difference in the tenders of the two classes, am I correct in assuming that the new chassis would be a reasonable basis for providing Cardean with more modern underpinnings, given that the original B12 chassis compromise also applied to the LNWR model?

Cheers.

Dave.
