CRA3/1/3/2 Caledonian Railway Timetables Complete Set from office of R. Killin, Superintendent of the Line (Including Platform Docker for Glasgow Central & Edinburgh Princes Street) June 1922
CRA3/1/3/3 Public Timetable, bound volume ex the CR Timetable Department, for May/June and July/Aug/September both complete with maps. Restricted TT European War Crisis from Tuesday 1st September and from Thursday 1st Oct, with supplements for Clyde Steamer and other steamer/coach services. Associated full size posters are folded and bound-in, these are in a mixture of colours –black, blue and mauve, the latter for the Royal Visit in July. This Royal poster also features the CR roundel which replaced the Crest in later years. The spine is broken, semidetached and held with sellotape, consideration should be given to restoration/conservation. 1914

CRA3/4/1/24 - Special Heavy Weight Wagon Diagrams

Photocopies of ex-Caledonian Wagons taken from an LMS Publication (NAS: NRM: DIAG/LMS/4, PRO: RAIL422/12), which covers all the pre-grouping company wagons inherited by the LMS. The original has BR date stamps and endorsements up to mid 1960s. Note the use of “truck” rather than “wagon” to describe the vehicles.

Stored in a multi-pocket display folder in numerical order, the individual pages do not have separate Archive Numbers.

Accident Reports setting out the findings of the Inspectors were published by the Board of Trade, many were featured in Railway Engineer and the website The Railway Archive www.railwayarchive.co.uk has copies of some of them as well as location maps, details of injuries etc., new information will be added if made available to their web master. Reports known to be available on the website are indicated by [R] and those known to have been reported in Railway Engineer are indicated [RE, date]

The tabulation below has been generated from a number of sources and relates to the Caledonian Railway unless specified. A previously published coding system per type of accident is as follows:

A = Axle, con-rod or other mechanical breakage (not tyre);
B = Boiler of Firebox explosion;
C = Collision with another engine, train or rolling stock;
CA = Collision with animal(s);
CB = Collision with buffers at station or end wall;
CG = Collision with crossing gates,
CO = Collision with object or projecting object on line (other than rolling stock);
D = Derail of engine, or part of, or all train;
Div = Diversion onto wrong line (usually with subsequent collision);
F = Fire on engine or train;
L = Landslide, tunnel or bridge collapse etc. Flooding;
P = Personal injuries e.g. at level crossings, platforms, falling out of trains etc.;
R = Runaway coaches or wagons, with or without subsequent collision, including uncoupling on inclines;
S = Single line collision;
T = Tyre fracture;
U = Unusual or other accident not covered by above e.g. Crane jib into bridge, P-way gang removed track.
